For Reviewers
The Proceedings relies on the commitment and expertise of our editors and reviewers to maintain the high standards and academic integrity of the journal. As a reviewer, your role is not only crucial to the advancement of scholarship in ELT in Vietnam and beyond but also to supporting the development of individual authors by providing constructive and professional feedback. Below are the key expectations we have for our reviewers to ensure the peer-review process is rigorous, ethical, and fair.
Expertise in English Language Education
We expect our reviewers to possess a solid background and expertise in English Language Education or related fields. A comprehensive understanding of current research trends, methodologies, and practices in English Language Education is essential for providing an insightful and informed critique of manuscript submissions. Reviewers should be able to assess the academic rigor, relevance, and contribution of a manuscript to the field of English Language Education. This expertise helps to ensure that only high-quality research is published, benefiting both the authors and the wider academic community.
Fairness and Objectivity
Reviewers must approach each manuscript with a fair, open, and impartial mindset. All reviews should be based solely on the merits of the work, including its originality, clarity, methodology, relevance, and contribution to the field. Personal biases, conflicts of interest, or any external factors must be set aside to maintain the integrity of the peer-review process. If a reviewer believes they are unable to provide an impartial review due to a conflict of interest, they are expected to inform the editorial board immediately.
Ethical Responsibility
Ethics form the backbone of academic review. Reviewers must adhere to the highest ethical standards, ensuring that their critiques are honest, respectful, and constructive. Any form of plagiarism, falsification, or fabrication must be reported immediately. Additionally, reviewers are entrusted with maintaining confidentiality. The manuscripts you review should not be shared or discussed with others, and all ideas or findings within the submission must be treated as the author’s intellectual property.
Constructive and Justifiable Feedback
Providing clear, actionable, and constructive feedback is a critical part of the review process. Reviewers should offer thoughtful comments that help authors improve their work. It is essential to be specific in your recommendations, citing particular examples from the manuscript to justify your suggestions for improvement or revision. Whether recommending acceptance, revision, or rejection, reviewers should clearly explain their reasoning to guide both the author and the editorial board in their decision-making process.
Timeliness and Commitment
Timeliness is a key expectation for reviewers. We understand that the review process is voluntary; however, prompt feedback is critical to maintaining the journal’s publication schedule. We ask that reviewers complete their assessments within the agreed timeframe. If circumstances arise that prevent you from meeting the deadline, it is important to notify the editorial team as soon as possible to avoid delays. Being responsive and communicative demonstrates professionalism and respect for the authors, editors, and the broader academic community.
Contribution to the Academic Community
By serving as a reviewer, you are contributing to the advancement of knowledge within the field of English Language Education. Your participation helps shape the direction of research and practice in the field, ensuring that innovative, impactful, and methodologically sound studies reach the academic community. This role provides an opportunity to give back to the English Language Education community, foster collaboration, and promote scholarly excellence.

While the role of a reviewer is voluntary, the journal deeply values the time, effort, and expertise you contribute. To recognize your contributions, we provide official certificates of recognition upon the completion of your reviews.
